ZEISS Microscopy set out to rethink the traditional trade show booth, moving beyond product displays to create something more immersive and meaningful. The goal was to attract, educate, and inspire by showing not just what their technology does, but what it makes possible. While VP of Design at Goods & Services, Sean Metcalf lead design & technology teams towards a modular, scalable experience that brought scientific breakthroughs to life. Centered around 24 real stories across life and material sciences, the installation transformed complex research into a narrative environment that people could step into and explore. By placing scientists at the center, much like how Nike elevates its athletes, the experience made innovation feel human and tangible. The result was a significant shift in engagement. ZEISS saw a 500% increase in North American trade show leads and a doubling of booth traffic and interaction, establishing a new standard for how the brand shows up in physical space. The experience as also received awards from International Design Awards, Graphis, Transform Awards, and Indigo Awards.
